Anse Caritan - Baie des Anglais
Accessible to all, feet or bicycle, this strolls makes you discover one of the most beautiful littoral zone of Martinique. At the beginning of the Anse Caritan, the path skirts the peninsula of Sainte-Anne, and carries out you, of beaches of dream in beaches of dream, to Baie des Anglais. In a few kilometers, you pass from quiet water of the Caribbean south to those more agitated of the Atlantic coast.

The excursion begins at the southern exit from the borough from Sainte-Anne, on the level of the Anse Caritan. Immediately, the tone is given. Sand fine, water turquoise, splendid sight on the Passe du Marin, generous shade of the raisiniers and coconuts... happiness. From there, under cover of the trees, the path guides you to the Pointe Dunkerque, and a very beautiful beach, often deserted, the Anse Meunier. To reach the Grande Anse des Salines, you will go along old salt-water marshes and another beautiful beach, the Petite Anse des Salines.

Considered for its paradisiac setting, the Grande Anse des Salines demerit not. Its superb band of sand gilded in arc of circle, and its lines of coconuts invite to pose its hammock. Only disadvantage, you will not be alone (see the guide of the Martinique beaches).

At the end of the beach, the path borrows a narrow passage between the Etang des Salines and the Grande-Terre beach. The landscape is done desert. From the Pointe du Diablel, the coast cuts out, the waves are numerous, the trade winds blow. You have just reached the Atlantic littoral.

Strolls continues towards Baie des Anglais, through the Savanna of the Petrifications and its silicified vegetation. Some bouquets of cactus open out along cliffs. Not very far, the Anse Trabaud, its beautiful waves, its surfers, and its bodyboarders. The Pointe Baham marks the entry of the Baie des Anglais. With broad, the îlets Hardy, Percé, Poirier are the refuge of very many species of marine birds. The interior of Bay, is him, bordered of mangroves.
