The Trade Winds in the dictionary :

Regular wind of the North-East in the Northern hemisphere and south-east in the Southern hemisphere, blowing of the high subtropical pressures towards the low equatorial pressures (weak force of Coriolis close to the equator). Of low speed (except at the beginning), blowing on average to 20 km/h, it brings rains on the Eastern coasts of the continents.

The Trade Winds in History :

Since 1492, the beginning of the season of the trade winds (November to May), announces the annual migration towards the west, of the homo sailorus.

The season of the trade winds is characterized by a stable weather with East winds in the blowing North-East between 15 and 25 nodes. From December to February, the trade winds are generally more powerful than during the remainder of the period... Ideal moment to jump on your windsurf.
