Cyclone Ivan (September 07 2004) :
The tropical storm Ivan, born last week off the Green Cape, gains in power and is transformed into cyclone with the approach of the West-Indian arc.
After having skirted the coasts of Venezuela, the Ivan Hurricane inflects its trajectory towards north, and should cross the Antilles in a zone ranging between the Grenadines, St-Lucia and the south of Martinique.
Cyclonic State of alert :
For Monday September 06 23h00, Martinique has been in cyclonic state of alert. The population is invited to remain at it, and to follow to the radio the information given by the authorities. In the southern zone of the island, that which should be touched according to forecasters', if adventure the Ivan hurricane approached Martinique, concern is palpable.
08 September End of alarm :
Martinique has been lucky. This year, it is the second cyclonic phenomenon that pass not far from the island. Ivan traced its road more in the south, crossing the West-Indian arc on the level of the island of the Grenade, where one regrets of many damage.
