Martinique is not Hawaii, but its North-Atlantic and north-Caribbean coasts, from Tartane to the Prêcher are strewn with ten spots which make the happiness of the initial or experienced surfers. During the wintering, the swell can be very good.
The majority of the island's spots are on the north coast, between the peninsula of the Caravel and the borough of the Prêcher. All function with swells of north. South of Martinique is reserved to the bodyboarders which will find good waves in Anse Cafard (near Diamant), and in the Anse Trabaud on the south-Atlantic coast.
When to surf ?
From October to March, when the swells of north come to beat the coasts of the island regularly creating beautiful trains of waves. The local surfers watch for also the cyclonic depressions which cross the Antilles between September and July... guaranteed feelings.
